Basic Science Imaging Platform
Center for Anatomy and Cell BiologySora Lab
Scientific focus
The scientific focus of the Sora Lab rests on using of thin slice plastination for 3D reconstruction. As a side-line it conducts classic anatomic research projects and is involved in several joint projects with clinicians, for which it provides the anatomic background.
Tree major area of research can be covered by plastination: 1.) Comparison to radiological imaging and 3D rendering; 2.) Investigations of soft tissue patterning; 3.) Investigation of soft-hardtissue interfaces.

Employed techniques
The Sora Lab mainly employs micro- & macrodissection, Silicone (S-10=) Epoxi (E-12) and Polyesther (P-40) techniques and also 3D reconstruction by using thin slice plastination (0.5 mm).
